Download your Audio Books From your Harddrive to your Ipod

IPod and MP3 players are the new rage, almost every one posses them and are hooked on to these devices. It is no surprise as the busy lifestyle we lead, we can help but squeeze out time to listen to music along the way to work or when we are exercising or are out on a walk. Obvious why audio book sales are soaring. The mixture of audio books and ipods are now making it easy enough for people to listen to their books on tape no matter where they want.

The procedure for downloading an audio CD to an iPod, so audio book files can be played there.

introduction to audio books

First, put the CD into your computer and launch iTunes. If iTunes simply prompts you asking if you'd like to import the CD, say no--there's a few things we'll want to do before allowing iTunes to import the CD.

Once all the CDs have been imported, an effective way to find them is by simply clicking the Recently added playlist built into iTunes. The files should be right at the top.

Second, go to the Options section make certain that Media Kind is designated as Audiobook, the "Remember Position" setting is set to Yes, "Part of a Compilation" is set to No, and "Skip When Shuffling" is set to Yes. Changing these settings will group the files correctly in the iTunes audiobook directory, make certain that playback is automatically bookmarked, and prevent a chapter of "Crime and Punishment" from popping up in a party shuffle.

Switch to the Options panel, and check both the Remember playback position and the Skip when shuffling checkboxes Remember playback position tells iTunes and the iPod to make the file bookmarkable. Skip when shuffling keeps the spoken word track out of your random music mixes.

On most iPods, audiobooks are located in a separate directory within the music menu. On the iPhone or iPod Touch, you'll find audiobooks in the "More" section of the iPod menu.

In today hectic society with its emphasis on multi-tasking, audio books serve a dual purpose. They give busy people the opportunity to keep current with literary works while still maintaining their active lifestyles.
