ArtFusion Media School is a Leading Animation School in Asia In gaining a good job in animation, proven skills, as demonstrated in an impressive show reel, rather than academic credentials, are all important. Potential employers do not care too much about academic qualifications. They would rather hire a self-taught talent than one with all the top degrees but no demonstrated skills. In animation, there are two major styles: 3D Computer Graphics (CG) “western” style and Japanese anime style. The top schools for 2D anime are naturally in Japan. The top schools for CG animation are mostly in Europe and North America. There is no single model for excellence among the top animation schools. Many are parts of arts and design schools, such as: CalArts, Ringling College of Art and Design, Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD), Rhode Island School of Art and Design, École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs, Royal College of Art (UK) and RMIT (Australia). Some are departments within a larger general university or college, such as University of Southern California, Sheridan College, Bournemouth University and the University of Teeside. Some are part of film schools, such as Vancouver Film School and the National Film and Television School (UK). Some are animation focused schools, such as Gobelins L'Ecole de L'Image and Supinfocom, both in France, both non-degree granting, yet rated among the top three animation programs in the world. In Asia, the top animation schools are in Japan and Korea. Some follow the Japanese anime style. They teach in Japanese or Korean, and therefore less accessible to international students unless they are prepared to learn Japanese or Korean. There are reportedly up to 1,000 schools in China offering animation related programs but the quality is uneven. Some top media schoolschools with CG related programs have Asia campuses, such as SCAD in Hong Kong and Digipen (game focused) in Singapore. In Asia, a top animation school which teaches in English is ArtFusion Media School, formerly known as Egg Story Digital Arts School, based in Singapore. ArtFusion has an international faculty with proven industry experience from North America, Europe and Australia.
